Every year Chapelle juniors and seniors have the opportunity to take a trip to Washington, D.C. to explore America’s history. This year sixteen Chipmunks took advantage of this historic journey.  The group included: Alina Paz, Holly Hammer, Aubrey Evola, Courtney Bender, Moira Bourgeois, Ashleigh Baham, Rebecca White, Michelle LeBlanc, Rayne Morehead, Carly Spizale, Taylor Duhon, Hillary Heidingsfelder, Kayla Reinmiller, Gabrielle April, Emily Roth, and Kate Sotolongo.

The students went to the following memorials and monuments: Lincoln, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, Martin Luther King, Jr. They also visited the Supreme Court building and observed the court hearing oral arguments. They observed the House of Representatives in session, took a tour of the Capitol building, and met with Representative Steve Scalise.

They attended a play at the Kennedy Center and visited the home of George Washington, Mount Vernon. The itineraryalso included a tour of the Holocaust Museum and a visit to Arlington National Cemetery where they witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Marla Chapotel and Jeannine Seoane accompanied the students on the trip.
